Fundraising

Without our efforts at fundraising there would be no Friends of Dagoretti Children!

We rely heavily on the kindness and support of our local and surrounding community. The majority of the students which Friends of Dagoretti Children supports are from the Dagoretti Village area, which is why the focus of our activities is in the Karen area, just adjacent.

Besides 'begging letters', approaches to businesses, funds and educational organisations, and to long suffering friends and family, we have adopted an increasingly pro-active approach to fundraising, not wanting to rely on the same people/organisations all of the time.

A little fun must also be involved in the process! So for the last few years we have held fundraisers  - and have found a formula which seems to work for us: a dinner, dancing to a fabulous live band and a spirited auction! The photos below speak volumes and we hope that those of you living in Kenya will join us at our next one in November 2016!

We have also added bridge afternoons to our list of popular events, and our most recent one, held in March 2016 is pictured immediately below. The table tariff coupled with a well supported raffle enabled us to raise Ksh 130,500.

Thanks to all of our very generous and loyal supporters!
